RAV BAG - SECOND LIFE

This project is part of the same collection that includes the RK Boots. You can check out the RK Boots at the image on the side

I received the request for this bag along with several other items. Although the bag itself is simple, it’s a complete asset that follows a solid 3D pipeline and even includes the use of hair cards. This immediately caught my interest, as I really enjoy working with hair cards—from planning the meshes to building them in Blender.

I’m aware of other methods for creating textures for hair cards, but I personally prefer my own approach. It’s simpler and relies on only two software packages: Blender and Substance Painter. This allows us to completely exclude Photoshop from the workflow (or even use something basic like Paint, if you’re comfortable with it). With enough experience, it’s even possible to work directly in Substance Painter without heavy planning although I don’t recommend skipping that step.

The entire process went smoothly: modeling, sculpting, and texturing. Only after the model was fully textured did I begin producing the hair cards, as this gives me a complete visual context for the asset.
Below, you can check out the final look along with several renders of the project.”
