FRATERNITY STAFF - SECOND LIFE

This project was very exciting because it was something that deviated from the kind of work I usually do, and I absolutely loved it.
The idea was to create a staff for the client’s fraternity in Second Life. Her request was for a golden staff with surface details, flowers and stems emerging from it, and a precious jewel set into the staff.
It took us some time to decide on the overall concept, but once everything was settled, we moved on to the blockout phase. It took a bit of exploration, but we eventually found the right direction, and from there the modeling process flowed naturally.
After that, we proceeded to retopology and texturing.
There were some repositionings of elements and even replacements along the way. The flower shown in the initial image didn’t please the client, and she asked for a different flower model. Personally, I really liked the original one because I felt it was more fluid and gestural!
But the client is the boss.
In the end, we achieved the final result shown here, with images captured directly from the Marmoset engine. Below, you can also see the beta and alpha versions of the project, as well as the flower model the client ultimately preferred.
Thank you for following along!
